Shailesh Patel was born and brought up in Nairobi, Kenya, where he has lived most of his life. He has Bronze certification from the Kenya Professional Safari Guide Association (KPSGA). To add to his interest in wildlife and wide knowledge of local travel, he seriously began bird watching about 11 years ago when he first joined Nature Kenya birdwalks in 1996. He is a member of the Nature Kenya's Bird Committee. He is currently working with Spanafricsafaris.

"I found myself in Nairobi in June 2007 on a business trip, with half a day at the end of the trip free for birding, before heading back to the airport. I had been to Nairobi and surrounds several times before, so had already seen many of the specials on offer in the area. With this in mind, I sent a specific list of target birds to Shailesh Kumar Patel to see what he could recommend. Shailesh suggested that many of my target birds could be seen along the Magadi Road area, so I arranged to have him guide me for the morning in that area.
Shailesh was punctual in picking me up from my hotel, and I soon discovered he was very knowledgeable of the local birds and wildlife. During the course of the morning I got to see many of my target birds, and managed 26 new birds in the morning, mainly due to the local knowledge and sharp eyes of Shailesh. Peter Muriithi

Peter K. Muriithi is a professional tour guide, with an experience of over 5 years. He was born in kirinyaga central province. He has a Higher Diploma of Tour guiding and administration, certificate of Spanish language, Recommendation letter from ministry of tourism and Manga tours as a tour leader. He is a Member of the Nature Kenya and regular co-leader of the Wednesday Morning Bird walks organized by the Nature Kenya.

To add up his wildlife interest, wide knowledge over his local travel and culture, he seriously began bird watching about 5 years ago. He is currently working with Spanafricsafaris.  

He speaks Kikuyu, English, Kiswahili and little Spanish.

In June & July of 2007 I traveled to Kenya with a group of ten North Central College students and alumni.  During our stay we had the privilege of working with Peter Mureithi as our tour guide.  Peter was by our side as we traveled to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and other natural wonders in Kenya.  His knowledge about wildlife was astounding.  We were particularly captivated by his knowledge of birds.  He was always quick to spot them, name them, and share fascinating details about their life and habits.  Without Peter’s guidance we would have missed many of the beautiful things that Kenya has to offer.  We are very grateful for all the interactions we had with Peter Mureithi.  His demeanor was professional, welcoming, friendly and knowlegable.  Peter was very trustworthy and we felt safe and comfortable with him as our guide.  He is obviously well studied in the areas of wildlife and birds, and he is a person of character and integrity.
