The Coast

Along the coast, there are two birding sites like Arabuko Sokoke Forest and Mida Creek. Arabuko Sokoke Forest is more of a coastal forest where you get species like Green Barbet, Sokoke Scops Owl, East Coast Akalat, Sokoke Pipit, Chestnut-fronted Hlmet-shrike, Amani Sunbird and Plain-backed Sunbird. Also home to the Clarke’s Weaver which is Vulnerable and to see it is like looking for pin in a haystack. Mida Creek has important mangrove forest. Here you get species like Purple-banded Sunbird, Woolly-necked Stork and lots of waders.
